Tehran has launched attacks on Jordan, Bahrain and Kuwait in retaliation against fresh US military strikes carried out on Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2026.

Iran’s action is in defiance of a warning from President Donald Trump that their country would be “hit much harder” if it retaliated.

U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) in a statement explained that “forces successfully completed a wave of strikes against Iranian military targets Sept. 1.”

The air strikes targeted Iran’s “air defense sites, radar systems, maritime assets and facilities, mine laying capabilities, and communications sites.”

CENTCOM added that the “strikes follow recent attempted attacks by the IRGC against commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz and against American service members.”

Following the US strikes, Trump warned that Iran would face more severe military action if it retaliated against the strikes, which he described as “very justified attack.”

CENTCOM maintains that the over 50,000 U.S. service members currently operating across the Middle East “remain vigilant, lethal, and prepared to continue executing operations directed by the Commander in Chief.”
