Gospel minister, Nathaniel Bassey, led thousands of worshippers in a night of praise, worship and teaching at the physical grand finale of the October edition of the Hallelujah Challenge, held at Daystar Christian Centre, Oregun, Ikeja Lagos.

The event, which began at 7 p.m. on Friday, October 30, 2026, featured gospel ministers including Greatman Takit, Chimdi Ochei, David Dam, Sunmisola Agbebi and Bassey himself, who is the convener of Hallelujah Challenge.

The programme opened with corporate praise. The song, “You Are Worthy to Be Praised, Only You, Only You,” set the tone as attendees lifted their voices in worship of God.

Greatman Takit took the stage first with an energetic praise set that drew loud cheers. His popular song, “Ademolateleomore,” had worshippers dancing and rejoicing.

Chimdi Ochei followed, anchoring his session on Psalm 103:5. He charged believers to remember God’s benefits and asked the congregation, “Is there anyone who is grateful?” He then led worshippers in songs of thanksgiving, rounding off with “What a Good Good Father You Are, What a Darling Jesus You Are.”

Bassey also led worship, urging the crowd to lift their voices in adoration. His session climaxed with, “The Lord Reigns, Let the Earth Rejoice,” reflecting the theme of the October edition.

Speaking to the congregation, Bassey recalled how some of his songs were initially rejected, noting that many now testify of their spiritual impact. He said he believes God has released a sound for this generation.

Then came the message, delivered by Apostle Joshua Selman who stressed the need for believers to have a deep revelation of God’s nature for effective service.

He highlighted God’s unique attributes that set Him apart from every other being to be His eternal existence, holiness, goodness and mercy, noting that believers are partakers of His divine nature. He also drew attention to God’s omniscience, omnipotence and omnipresence as also stand Him out as One that cannot be equated with any other being.

He said having the nature that makes Him to be all-knowing, present everywhere, and all-powerful underscores God’s sovereignty and authority.

The programme also featured intercession for married couples and singles facing pressure to compromise their values, fruitfulness in marriages, preservation of love, and divine settlement for those trusting God for godly partners.

Hallelujah Challenge is an online midnight praise movement convened by Nathaniel Bassey. It was launched on June 1, 2017, after a spontaneous Instagram Live session from his living room. The programme has featured many who testified of God’s miraculous work in their lives.

The initiative draws inspiration from Acts 16:25-26, where Paul and Silas prayed and sang praises to God in prison, which led to their freedom following a supernatural intervention by God.‎
