Daystar TV Network Co-founder, Joni Lamb, Dies At 65

Joni Lamb

Popular Christian broadcasting network, Daystar Television Network, has announced the passing of its co-founder and president, Joni Lamb, at the age of 65. According to the Christian television network, Joni died following a private battle with what it described as serious health issues, compounded by a recent back injury.

Her husband, Marcus Lamb, had died in November 2021 from complications due to COVID-19. Both Marcus and Joni founded Daystar which is located outside of Dallas, United States. Both worked to position Daystar as a foremost Christian broadcasting network reaching virtually all parts of the globe.

She took over the leadership of Daystar after her husband passed away, as the organisation grew to become one of the largest Christian television networks in the world.

After the death of Marcus Lamb, a family dispute erupted over allegations of sexual abuse made by their son, Jonathan, against another family member.

Eventually, Joni fired Jonathan from Daystar after a 15-month performance review, accusing Jonathan of a “smear campaign” and blackmail for not being named as the successor to his husband.

But Jonathan and his wife, Suzy, claimed Joni took the action over the sexual abuse allegations they had raised, as well as her Jonathan’s opposition to her marriage to Doug Weiss after the death of Marcus, his father.
