Doing business with God in deep waters is not for the casual believer. It is a path marked by consecration, sacrifice, intimacy, and complete surrender to the will of God. Those whom God draws into these depths experience realities that often set them apart from the crowd.
While the journey may not always be understood by others, it produces a life that reflects Christ and advances His purposes on the earth.
Lifelong Loyalty
One of the first things that happens when you do business with God in deep waters is that your loyalty to heaven becomes a lifelong commitment.
God may send you to people, places, and systems that reject, misunderstand, or even despise you. Yet He will require you to walk in love and radiate the character of Christ regardless of how you are treated.
As you grow deeper, God may reveal the true intentions and attitudes of people toward you, yet still instruct you to continue loving them. Jesus knew Judas would betray Him, but He did not treat him with bitterness or resentment.
God’s will must always supersede personal feelings. The believer who walks in deep waters learns to love as Christ loves until God unfolds the next chapter of His divine plan.
Spirit of Servanthood
A spirit of servanthood becomes deeply rooted within you. Much of what you do may go unnoticed by men and may never be celebrated on this side of eternity. Nevertheless, God sees every act of service and promises rewards that far exceed earthly recognition.
In these depths, God may use you to birth significant spiritual movements, breakthroughs, and victories that others may never associate with your name.
You may labor in prayer and intercession, breaking territorial strongholds and sustaining revival fires in secret, while others receive public recognition and visibility. Yet you remain content knowing that heaven records every sacrifice made in secret.
Heaven-regulated Life
Another mark of deep dealings with God is that your words, thoughts, and opinions become regulated by heaven. Even when you possess a clear understanding of a matter, God may require your silence. You learn that wisdom is not merely knowing what to say but also knowing when not to speak.
As your depth in God increases, so does your meekness. Genuine spiritual maturity is always accompanied by humility. A person who is overly concerned about preserving their reputation or defending their ego has yet to enter the deeper dimensions of God’s dealings.
Mockery and persecution become inevitable companions on the journey. While God faithfully stands with His servants, there are seasons when suffering becomes part of the process through which greater glory is revealed.
Sharpened Discernment
Your discernment also becomes sharpened. You begin to perceive the motivations, spiritual conditions, and driving forces behind people and situations. Because you see beyond outward appearances, many things that attract and excite others may no longer hold the same appeal for you.
Consequently, you become highly selective about your kingdom associations. While some may mistake this caution for pride, those who understand spiritual growth recognize that certain relationships are either assigned by God or avoided by divine wisdom.
The death of self becomes a daily reality. God continually tests and refines your surrender, teaching you to lay aside personal ambitions, preferences, and desires in order to embrace His purposes.
Learning By Experience
As intimacy deepens, your understanding of the spiritual realm expands. Your knowledge of Jesus, angels, demons, Satan, and spiritual operations is no longer based solely on theory or study but is enriched through experience, discernment, and ongoing fellowship with God.
You may also find yourself frequently overlooked by men. Heaven’s standards often differ greatly from the world’s standards. As a result, you become comfortable living a quiet, holy, and often hidden life.
Material possessions and financial pursuits lose their hold over your heart. The treasures you value become increasingly spiritual and eternal in nature, making it difficult for the average believer to fully understand what truly motivates you.
God also begins to entrust you with secrets. While secret things ultimately belong to Him, intimacy creates opportunities for Him to reveal aspects of His heart, plans, and purposes. Much of what He shares may be entrusted to you in confidence and not for public disclosure.
Disciplined and Structured Life
Your life becomes highly disciplined and ordered. The demands of your calling require a level of structure and consecration that others may neither see nor fully comprehend. What appears ordinary on the surface is often sustained by a rigorous spiritual lifestyle behind the scenes.
Because of these realities, many people may struggle to understand you. Their priorities, ambitions, and interests may differ greatly from yours because your life is increasingly aligned with the values and perspectives of Heaven.

At the center of it all, Jesus becomes your model. This is no longer a theological statement or a religious slogan. It becomes a living reality. Your character, conduct, and responses increasingly reflect His nature until people encounter Christ through your life.
The Holy Spirit also grants insight into complex spiritual matters. He illuminates Scriptures, provides wisdom for practical situations, and offers understanding that enables you to navigate difficult issues with grace and discernment.
Your love for God becomes purified. His blessings remain appreciated, but they are no longer the primary motivation for your devotion. You love Him for who He is, valuing His presence above every earthly possession or achievement.
As a result, spiritual disciplines such as prayer, Bible study, meditation, worship, and fellowship cease to be mechanical obligations. They become the natural overflow of a genuine love relationship with Jesus Christ.
Finally, God may permit some believers to experience extraordinary spiritual encounters, including visions of Heaven, angels, or manifestations of His presence. Such experiences are not compulsory signs of spirituality, but they remind us that the realities described in Scripture are not merely symbolic—they are real and eternal.
Ultimately, the deeper walk with God is a call to holiness. Scripture declares that without holiness no one shall see the Lord. Therefore, every believer who desires greater intimacy with Jesus must embrace a life of purity, obedience, and consecration.
