The Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, Lagos Chapter, has announced plans to stage a peaceful rally against the rising wave of killings, banditry, kidnapping and what it described as acts of genocide across Nigeria.
In a statement issued ahead of the event, the Christian body expressed deep concern over the continued loss of innocent lives, particularly among Christians, saying the violence had reached alarming proportions nationwide.
The fellowship stated that, as representatives of millions of Nigerians, it has a moral and patriotic responsibility to speak out against insecurity and demand urgent government intervention to protect citizens.
According to the state PFN, the march is scheduled to hold on Sunday, May 24, 2026, by 2:00 p.m., taking off from all the PFN provinces in Lagos.
The organization also announced a media parley to be held before the commencement of the march, urging journalists to participate in what it described as a civic call for a safer Nigeria.
It, however, explained that the rally is non-political and non-partisan, but intended as a peaceful response to the worsening security situation in the country.
The group further urged the government to place the security and welfare of citizens above politics, stressing that the protection of lives remains the primary responsibility of the state.
