Christians in the United States are currently engaged in a fight to eradicate anti-Christian bias and eliminate past actions and policies by the federal government that infringe upon religious liberty.
The recent release of By Dawn’s Early Light, a documentary, is part of the actions being taken to shine a light on such anti-Christian bias and attack on religious liberty, as well as efforts to tackle the menace.
The documentary comes after a report in April 2026 by the U.S. Department of Justice’s Task Force to Eradicate Anti-Christian Bias. The report detailed what it described as deep-seated bias across various sectors of the federal government.
Trump’s Intervention
The task force, an interagency federal body, was established via Executive Order by President Donald Trump on February 6, 2025 less than a month after taking office for his second term.

Its primary objective “is to investigate, identify, and eliminate perceived anti-Christian bias, discrimination, or ‘government weaponization’ rooted in the policies, practices, or legal actions of the previous administration.”
The report focused on “Prosecutorial and Law Enforcement Bias, Workplace Accommodations, Higher Education & Funding and Foster Care and Healthcare Conscience Rights.”
On the last item, the report criticized past policies and guidance by the Health and Human Services Department that restricted Christian foster parents or faith-based adoption agencies from participating in programmes if they did not affirm specific gender identity or sexual orientation guidelines.
For the record
By Dawn’s Early Light highlights findings from 17 federal agencies that make up the task force, and concerns about federal actions found to violate religious liberty.
The documentary recounts the events that inspired the words of the U.S. national anthem and also draws a parallel to today’s battles over faith, freedom, and the U.S. government’s responsibility to protect the rights of people of faith.
It features government leaders, legal advocates, historians, and firsthand accounts of individual victims, as it explores the importance of defending liberty in every generation, modern concerns about religious liberty and anti-Christian bias.
