France In Flames Again: What Holds A Nation Together?

President Emmanuel Macron has vowed to hold accountable all those found to be responsible for the violence and destruction unleashed on several French cities during the protests. In his nationwide address on the evening of Sunday, Oct. 18, 2026 the President promised to hold emergency meeting with the mayors to address the issues, but warned that the full weight of the law would be brought to bear on the culprits.
