Touch God

Matthew14v36b:- And as many as touched the hem of His garment were made perfectly well.

You may not always be responsible for how information comes to you, but certainly responsible for what you do with it; that is, how you process and act on it matter most. Most things which proceed from the mouth comes from the heart, which could be evil thought that defiles a man. “Not what goes into the mouth defiles a man but what comes out of the mouth” (Matt15v11).

Touch God with the newness of your heart by abstaining from sin, “if you regard iniquity in your heart, the Lord will not hear you” (Ps66v18). “You cannot also dwell in sin and ask the grace of God to abound” (Rom6v1). Present yourself to God as a new creation, which has been crucified with Christ, let old things that doesn’t glorify the name of the Lord pass away, exhibit the fruits of the Holy spirit, which are righteousness, unity and love.

One of the best things you can do to yourself with the help of the Holy Spirit is to activate your spirit and faith eyes, in order to build in your mind, the good thought and right picture about what you want in life; that is living in God’s dream and entering God’s purpose for your life.

You need to have new ideas, attitudes and changes toward your processing power, which will help in renewing your mind gradually until it becomes the perfect instrument in God’s hand. When you stay with things that steer the focus of your spirit and mind in the right directions, with the understanding of the power behind the “WORD OF GOD”, it is then you will understand the mysteries of God, and you will be able to touch God.

The woman with the issue of blood (Mark5v27-34) had the spiritual knowledge that; Jesus was the Word who became flesh that dwell among men, and all things were made through Him and without Him nothing was made that was made. She saw His true glory as the Son of God, full of grace and truth, the true light of the world that shines into every situation (John 1v1-18).

She kept the idea of touching His hem to herself; she was not distracted by the crowd or discouraged by people’s comment. She kept saying to herself, if only I could touch the hem of His garment. She believed, then touched with her faith and instantly she was made whole. “As many as received Him, believe in His name, to them He gave the right to become children of God”(John1v12).

The type of life you live shows how richly you are touching God’s heart. When you touch Him with your good intention/substances, “you will be given back in good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over”(Luke 6v938). You will never lack anything because “God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus” (Phillipians 4v19), covenant of surplus will be applicable to you. Jesus said what Mary did will be a memorial forever, wherever the gospel is preached her name will always be mentioned. She saw with the newness of the spirit into the world beyond by anointing Jesus’ body for the burial with an expensive oil (Mark14v3-9).

Things That Honour God

“Honour the Lord with your possession, with the first fruits of all your increase, so your barns will be filled with plenty and your vat will overflow with new wine” (Prov3v9).

Touch God with your widow’s mite, put your two mites into God’s treasury, which could be 10% of your time or 10% of your income apart from your tithe, using it to clean or bless the house of God without being called upon, visiting prisons or hospitals for evangelism, spending time in the orphanage home by washing their clothes, helping with their school work, playing with them and so on, then rendering help to the less privilege. This practice could be daily, weekly, monthly or quarterly, depending on how God placed it in your heart. “The hand of God is upon those for good, who seek Him”(Ezra8v22b).

Touch God with your fasting and prayer, humble yourself before Him, make your request known to God. Esther did that and her request was granted by God and man; she was graciously favoured by the king (Esther5,6&7). Inquire from God and always put Him first in all your doings – the way David did. Be very patient, be attentive to the instructions given by God, obey it totally, no matter your human interpretation of the instruction, so that you can touch God and be called the apple of His eyes.

Faith Moves God To Act

Touch God with your determination. The three Hebrew men refused to worship the king’s idol; it’s a personal decision to trust God “Who daily loads you with benefit, who never forsakes you, the present help in trouble”(Ps46v1b), be steadfast with Him so that He can bring you into the favour of His good will.

Touch God with a joyful heart “let the heart of those who rejoice seek the Lord, His strength and face forever (Ps105v3-4). For the joy of the Lord will be your strength. Touch God with thankful heart, God treats you better than you deserve, it is the gift of God to you that shows the true richness of His grace and kindness. When your heart is thankful, the meditation of your heart will be acceptable to God and every other thing will be made possible by God.
