Making Women Count For God

An inter-denominational group of Christian women are out to make women relevant in God’s scheme things in Nigeria.

The group, known as the Commissioned Christian Women is reaching out to their fellow women through conferences, the latest of which was held at the University of Lagos on September 23rd, 2017.

Tagged ‘Women – Upholding God’s Standard’, the organisers sought to address the three most important parts of every person – the spirit, soul and body. Different speakers addressed the various aspects of a woman’s life and they had separate sessions for all women in different categories. There was the ‘bread of life’ session where the word of God was shared and discussed. There was also a session for single and married women and of course a health session that focused on the body, as well as career development session led by various professionals in the law, science and accounting fields.

The spokesperson of the organisation Onyinye, told Kingdom Times that the purpose of the programme was to ‘prepare women for heaven’. She pointed out that there seemed to be false doctrines everywhere and that biblical standards were being reduced daily and so their major desire was to teach women the word of God and ensure that they ‘hold on to the truth in these last days’.

With young female adults and married women as its target, the Organisation aims at breaking down denominational barriers that hinder God’s move in the Church, with the desire to see women rise to full consciousness of who they are in Christ, their relevance in whatever sector in society they find themselves, and totally committed to living solely for Jesus.

It was a time out for believers to fellowship together in love and learn one or two things that they could take home and change their own little space of influence.

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature...
